The Industry Excellence Awards went off in sensational style this year with a record 140 registered attendees! Everyone I spoke to had a great time and it was absolutely fantastic to see so many managers getting involved. We had 7 Categories this year – all finalists were determined by nominations from our 440 onsite building managers throughout the year, each manager getting one 1 nomination per category. The service provider with the highest number of nominations was crowed the winner. No winners under de Brenni’s reckless rental reforms

The Minister for Housing and Public Works, Mick de Brenni has announced Stage 1 of proposed rental reforms that would significantly damage Queensland’s rental market and create the most onerous rental laws in the country. The REIQ strongly opposes the proposed reforms which are a slap in the face to every day ‘mum and dad’ property owners who provide the majority of housing to Queensland’s renters. If enacted, the law change would erode fundamental landlord rights and deter property investment across the state.
